Whether you’re planning a spectacular romantic date with somebody you just met or you’re looking to take your long-term sweetie out on the town, Brisbane is a great place to do it. Regardless of your preferences or budget, we’ve got the best of the best Brisbane date night ideas – read on for our top picks!

Urbane – 181 Mary Street, Brisbane QLD 4000

One of the most romantic restaurants in Brisbane, this pick can get a bit pricey, but we adore it for a first date because of all the options. If you don’t know whether your sweetie is allergic, sensitive or all-out vegan, this is the place to go – they’ve got you covered! The menu is a mixture of different European cuisines, offered with incredible attention to detail and alongside a very nice wine selection. Something for everybody makes this one of our very favorite Brisbane date night ideas.

Sono Japanese Restaurant – Level 1, 39 Hercules Street, Hamilton QLD 4007

Sono is our second pick of the most romantic restaurants in Brisbane because, let’s face it, not everybody adores Japanese cuisine. If you’re still a little nervous around raw fish, you may want to skip this pick. If you adore sushi, sashimi and other Japanese goodness, however, this is a great place to really wow your honey with a romantic date!  Classical Japanese attention to detail is apparent in the incredibly gracious customer service, the excellent explanations of unfamiliar menu items and, of course, the visually gorgeous items themselves. The seating at Sono is a bit of a trick in and of itself – even during the most crowded hours, you’ll never feel as though you’re being rushed, and thanks to clever positioning, you’ll feel as though you’ve got the place all to yourselves. Date night perfection!

E’cco Bistro – 100 Boundary Street Cnr, Adelaide Street, Brisbane QLD 4000

If you’re looking for classic Australian cuisine served up with loads of romantic atmosphere at prices that won’t break the bank, E’cco Bistro might be just the ticket. To begin with, doesn’t “Bistro” just have that ideal first-date ring to it? Once your order arrives, you won’t be disappointed. Dishes are put together with a lovely eye for detail and there are choices available for all but the tiniest of budgets. Try a tasting menu to split for what feels like extravagance at an extremely fair price.

Mirchi Indian Restaurant – 4/6 Southpine Road, Alderley QLD 4051

If you’re looking for a less expensive option among romantic restaurants in Brisbane while still keeping things exotic and cozy, your search is over. A bit of an undiscovered spot, Mirchi offers the brilliantly seasoned dishes of India in a small, unassuming space. The restaurant is often rather quiet, as they do a brisk takeaway business. This is great for you, as it means more alone time with your date.

Flour & Chocolate Patisserie – Unit 4, 621 Wynnum Road, Morningside QLD 4171

If your date happens to include (or conclude with!) breakfast or brunch, you’ll be doing yourself and your date a huge favor by hitting up this adorably delicious fan-favorite bakery. Try to choose a favorite – it’s not easy! Their extensive menu offers classics like sweet and savory croissants and quiches for a light breakfast on-the-go. If you have more of a sweet tooth or are looking to cap off a romantic brunch, browse their amazing selection of cakes, tarts, brownies and more. If you have a romantic picnic in your future, be sure to check out their range of gourmet imported cheeses and delicacies, including incredible chocolate. While it’s not the most traditional date location on our list, it’s one you truly can’t miss!
