If you have never thought about putting “sexy” and “home furnishing” in the same context, well then, think again! A home that is very well put together is very sexy, indeed, and home furnishing plays a big part in achieving just that. So if taking your sexiness up a notch is in your agenda, then investing in some great items for your home is a very easy and often affordable way to earn those sexy points. So let’s get you started, one room at a time.

The Living Room

As the gateway to your home, the living room is your first chance to make a great first impression. And you know what they say about first impressions! Investing in a few key pieces for this room, therefore, is possibly the best way to get started.

So assuming that you already have the basics (a good couch, a few armchairs, etc.), you now need to get on with the agenda. First, let’s talk about your coffee table. Your coffee table should not be there just for aesthetics. It should serve a purpose, too. Go for a coffee table with a sturdy and utilitarian look, so it can hold large coffee table books and mugs of beer, to name just a few.

Next, having various electronics and media items like DVDs and CDs scattered about are so clichéd – not to mention rather lazy. A chic credenza is a great place to store these items, so they are out of sight, but still easily on hand for those intimate movie nights. Most credenzas can also function as a place that can hold your home entertainment system, so it’s a much more stylish alternative to your run-of-the-mill TV stand.

Lastly, look around you, and consider the little things. Throw pillows, blankets, rugs, artwork, and other accents and accessories should all be classy, fashionable, and timeless because they go a long way in firmly locking up your desired aesthetics.

The Kitchen and Dining Room

Contrary to popular belief, you need a lot more than a few plates, a few cookware, and lots of beer mugs to have a sexy kitchen. And that rusty keg fridge probably needs to go, as well.

Having a great coffee-making system is a great place to start. After all, nothing’s sexier than a man who can make great coffee that’s not out of a sachet. A French press or a percolator is very cool, not to mention easy-to-use. You can even bring it up a notch and go for an espresso machine.

As for cookware, all kitchens should have the mighty cast-iron skillet. It is very versatile, so you can use it to cook practically everything from steaks to veggies. A great knife or two is also needed to up your cooking game, as well.

Lastly, do pay attention to your china, glassware, and cutlery. At the very least, have plates and cutlery that match, as well as a variety of glasses beyond the usual beer mugs, like sophisticated wineglasses.

The Bedroom

Chances are you already have a great bed. But let’s face it, that’s not enough to make a great bedroom. First of all, pay attention to your linens. While they don’t necessarily need to have ridiculously high thread counts in fabrics with names that you can’t even pronounce, they do have to be clean. White is always a safe bet because they can be easily bleached, and always give off the impression of being crisp and clean. And do remember that you can never change your linens often enough.

Next, invest in a functional nightstand with added storage. This is a great way to keep your books and electronics organized, so they do not encroach on your bed and sleeping space.

Lastly, install a great rug or carpet because there’s no mood killer stronger than (literally) cold feet. Plus, your lady will thank you for it!
